STEAM Club for Home School 2017-2018
NOW OFFERING CURBSIDE PICKUP AND DROPOFF!
What if you could combine the incredible fun of Creative Discovery Museum with your child's home school learning experience? Well, now you can as part of our STEAM Club sessions! Join us as we integrate a unique combination of science, technology, engineering, and math to solve real-world challenges and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. Sessions are offered throughout the school year and focus on a variety of topics from environmental conservation to robot construction! Spaces are limited and fill-up fast, so sign-up today!
We're doing things a little differently this year! Instead of signing up by month, the STEAM Club now has two four-month sessions!
Signing up more than one child in your household? This year we're offering $20 off the cost for each additional child in the same household. Sessions are full price for the first child, and each child in the same household receives the discount.
A registration minimum must be met for the session to take place.

Where would we be without the wheel? Or the lever? We all know simple machines make work easier, and this January students will learn about simple machines. Then they will put their new-found knowledge to work and engineer a solution to a fictional potato chip factory’s problem.
(Tuesday Classes Full)
2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26
2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27
Over the rivers we go! In February, students will learn about types of bridges and building materials. They will then design and construct a model bridge to solve an imaginary problem.
(Tuesday Classes Full)
So much of our world is underwater. What is the best way to explore it? Students study ocean engineering, sonar and ocean floor mapping. Then they will apply their knowledge of density, floating and sinking as they design their own submersible and retrieve a package from the “ocean floor.”
3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26
3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27
Walls. They keep bugs out. They hold the roof up. But what do you really know about building them? The materials used in a project make all the difference. Students will design and build walls using different materials and then test the strength of their walls in this four-week session.
4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30
4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24
Designing Hand Pollinators
Flies, butterflies, and bees are just some of nature’s better-known pollinators. But did you know that humans can also be pollinators? In this class, students will engineer their own technologies to pollinate a plant by hand.
